Satsuma Meiji Hand Painted Japanese Aesthetic Style Tea Cup & Saucer. Late 19th / early 20th century Meiji Period Satsuma pottery tea cup and saucer. Hand painted in the Japanese aesthetic style with panels with figures, trees, and flowers. With red scrollwork and small green and gold and red and gold symbols. Gold gilding to the handle.

Has crazing typical of Satsuma pottery and some wear to the gilding, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks. The cup measures approximately 4 inches wide including the handle x 2 1/8 inches tall.

The saucer measures approximately 5 1/4 inches wide. This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece. I have 6 cups and saucers available.
