An antique Meiji period Japanese Satsuma pottery dragon tea set signed Hayakawa. The set consists of a teapot, lidded sugar bowl, lidded creamer, 6 cups and 6 saucers. The teapot is approximately 8.25 inches long from handle to spout, and is approximately 7 inches tall.The creamer is approximately 5,5 inches tall, and the sugar bowl is approximately 6.25 inches wide from handle to handle. The saucers are just under 5.75 inches diameter and the cups are just over 1.75 inches tall. All the pieces have crazing and general wear but it's not excessive. All the cups and all the saucers are in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no repairs, just some allover general darkening from age. The covered cream pitcher is in excellent condition with no chips, no cracks, no repairs.
The sugar bowl has a flake to the inner rim and the inner rim of the cover (neither seen when the cover is in place), and the teapot has 2 flakes to the pot rim and 2 small chips to the cover (the tip of the pen is pointing to these), and some age darkening. Please see the photos for details.
