Fabulous Earthenware Japanese Thousand Flowers Satsuma Bowl from the Meiji Period 1868 through 1912. Gorgeous gold gilt and painted flowers in polychrome enamels - no paint loss anywhere.
Width is 4.75 and height is 2. Base shows Artist Mark and there seems to be the residue from an old label which I did not attempt to remove. You can see the slightly yellowish color to the earthenware with the fine crackle glaze on the base of the bowl.
Bowl is very lightweight for its size weighing in at exactly 8 ounces. NO damage anywhere - no chips or scratches or repairs or discoloration. PLEASE NOTE: WOODEN STAND IS NOT INCLUDED - only used as a photo aid.
